*Currently, there is a permit fee of $125 City of Treasure Island + $50 Processing required for a Treasure Island wedding (as of 10/11/22), Add $25 for Wedding Larger than 25 guests.  Specific Boardwalks are assigned according to availability by the City of Treasure Island. This location is recommended for 30 Guests or less due to frequent beach erosion, larger gatherings can be done at the End of 77th Ave which has slightly more beach sand width to work with.

In order to guarantee the ‘Rock Jetty’ location – you must reserve the Sunset Beach Pavilion in conjunction with one of our Wedding Packages.  Keep in mind it is rare for the Pavilion to be rented mid-week (Monday – Thursday).

Sunset Beach – Treasure Island

Sunset Beach on Treasure Island is one of the hidden treasures of Pinellas County, located at the southernmost tip of the Treasure Island peninsula. Nestled between the private condominium tower of mansions by the sea and some of the most enchanting beachfront homes on the Gulf to the north (this truly is a unique beach wedding location!). The hotels of St. Pete Beach and Treasure Island are just a short drive and visible in the distance from the shoreline which makes for stunning wedding photos. The main selling point of this location is its ‘Rock Jetty’ (Sand Key Park, Upham Beach, and Sunset Beach are the only wedding sites that offer this in Pinellas County) and makes for spectacular sunset photography (see picture).

This romantic paradise also features the Sunset Beach Pavilion, which can be rented for an afternoon reception. The Pavilion was remodeled in 2013 and includes a power outlet and one overhead light. However, the Pavilion closes at dusk, thus making Sunset Beach the best beach location for a DIY wedding and reception on the beach in Pinellas County. This is also a nice alternative to host the ceremony if inclement weather persists. In the summer of 2014, Sunset Beach underwent an extensive beach dredging process to widen the beach by almost 100’. This makes an already good location now an excellent beach wedding site.

There are two wedding sites at Sunset Beach conducive for a wedding: 1) directly behind the Sunset Beach Pavilion and 2) the very south end of the public beach. Prior to the dredging this past summer, there wasn’t enough beach for larger weddings and therefore had to be moved to the south end. Both locations offer sea oat lined private Boardwalk entryways, natural beauty, and a remote parking-friendly beach location with the optional adjacent Sunset Beach Pavilion. Setting up straight out from the north Boardwalk location adjacent to the Sunset Beach facing the Rock Jetty is recommended. We have been servicing this location for 10+ years now and it is the second most popular for Florida beach destination weddings of all sizes. There is currently a permit fee required at this location.

The secluded and captivating sunset views are at the core of Florida Gulf Beach Weddings and Sunset Beach, Treasure Island. Nearby locations include: The Lions Club (1 mile north), Upham Beach (.25 miles south, 3 miles by car) and Pass-a-Grille Beach (4 miles south, 6 miles by car).

Airport: Tampa International Airport ranks high in convenience and ease of travel and is located just 28 miles from Sunset Beach – Treasure Island. You can also fly into St. Petersburg / Clearwater Airport, only 20 miles from Treasure Island.
