We got legally married in May privately but now we have had time to plan a special wedding ceremony and reception for family and friends to participate in! We’ve always wanted a beach wedding and now we can do that! Join us for our special celebration at the Lion’s Club in Treasure Island FL on November 20th.
Wedding and Reception
The Lion's Club
The beautiful Bridesmaids
The handsome Groomsmen
Where can I Sleep?
The Grand Plaza Hotel in Saint Petersburg is 7 minutes from our Lions Club wedding location. All you have to do when you’re ready to book is call and ask for Robyn and say you’re a part of the Roberts wedding to get the lowered rates. She works Sundays-Thursday mornings and you can call up until the day of the wedding (November 20th) but the sooner you book, the more rooms are available.
Prices are based on the view the room has: non-water view starts at $101 a night without taxes, bay view is $120.65 a night, coastal is $139.65 a night, direct beach view is $187.15 a night, suites which can be split among up to 6 people are $253.65 a night which would be $43 per person a night if split 6 ways. All rooms have 2 queen beds and the suite has a living room and pullout couch. The $28 resort fee includes parking, WiFi, water bottles, beach and pool towels and a daily beach cabana! This is the hotel the wedding party will be staying at and we hope family will too! Along with restaurants and fast food nearby, it has a revolving restaurant on the top of the hotel, a poolside restaurant for breakfast, a level 11 roof top bar and restaurant with an amazing view of the beach, and a tiki bar and restaurant down on the actual beach.
There are tons of other hotels and motels nearby if you prefer to stay elsewhere. The Blind Pass Resort and Condo-Motel was rated the #1 Saint Petersburg bargain stay on the today show but they don’t have enough rooms for the entire party. They have individual rooms and condo layouts from $65-$160. Treasure Bay Resort and Marina, Sunset Inn and Cottages, Thunderbird Beach Resort, and Page Terrace are other options as well with beach rooms but less amenities.
We chose the Grand Plaza Hotel because we feel it will truly be a special experience for everyone and the negotiated rates are comparable to hotels that don’t offer near as much, but please feel free to explore your options for lodging in the area if you don’t wish to stay there.
Vehicle accommodations:
If you plan to rent a car you can get a discount at Enterprise from the group that is doing our wedding ceremony, Gulf Beach Weddings. To get the discount visit https://gulfbeachweddings.com/enterprise-rent-car/ for directions.
If you do not wish to get a rental car, the Grand Plaza offers town car pickups at the Tampa airport for $60 and SUV pickups for $90 which bring you to the hotel. All you do is call the front desk to arrange a pick up. There is also the “super shuttle” for $25-$30 per person which can pick you up at the airport at the time you schedule online or by phone and bring you to the hotel and vice versa. The Grand Plaza and the wedding location are very close: 7 minute drive, 35 minute trolley ride, 14 minute bike, but 56 minute walk. For in town trips to eat and such, walking is an easy way to get around and there is always Uber or cabs.
We hope everyone has a great vacation here while visiting for our wedding celebration!
Endless Activities
There’s tons to do in Saint Petersburg (where the hotel is located) and Treasure Island (where the wedding ceremony and reception is located). Festive restaurants, bars, scuba diving, snorkeling, museums, aquariums, rentals (kayak, canoe, jet ski, boat, bicycles, paddle boarding), nature walks, breweries, themed boat rides, parks, etc. However, the beach may be all you need!
Registry
Many people have already given us gifts from our legal wedding and/or wedding shower but if anyone needs to know our registries are on target.com, amazon.com and walmart.com
Thank you!
