What can I say….Yes. I sure did call him back. How could I not?

I mean here we are….hanging outside at a Pub on a nice spring night. It was kinda quiet thinking back. I hear the music and noise playing inside. It was only heard clearly once the door was opened but then it was sorta quiet again. Just felt the breeze and heard the sound of a few cars passing by.

We were actually both leaning against our own bikes on our phones minding our business. I was parked on the street and Juan parked on the sidewalk alongside the building. I don’t think either of us noticed we were the only ones outside. Until we decided to go inside the Pub. So as we started to walk looking down at our phones we reached the sidewalk at the same time and looked up at each other. Of course I greeted and introduced myself. “Hi! I’m Happyfeet, Passaic City Riders.” He said, “Hi. My name is Juan.” LOL 😀

As usual, in the beginning, we talked for almost 2 hours outside, then went in for some drinks and talked some more. Then chatted again after they closed. Juan asked if I go on rides out alone? I said of course! We exchanged numbers then I asked where did he live? That night we were in Newark,NJ. He said, “I lived in the Bronx but now I’m in Clifton.” To my surprise I said NO WAY! I’m in Clifton too! (Convenient) 😉

Anyway, so getting back to me calling him back. We went out a few times around town. He’d come meet by my house and take me to different spots in New York. We’d go out to eat and hang out as friends. One night after a day of riding, He talked about his interest in me, I was skeptical. I had planned on staying single and what am I gonna do with this skinny nerdy looking guy?? 😀 He felt my avoidance and simply said, “I’m trying but if your not interested, I’m not the kind of person to chase.” I just looked at him. He turned around and left. And I let him. 🙁

That night I felt so horrible because he was sweet and a complete gentleman all the time. Why did I do that? So yup the next morning, I called him back to apologize. And then he came over. LOL We went out again. We were inseparable.

He proposed 4 years later. It was absolutely the BEST DAY EVER! Surprised me with a Helicopter Ride around NYC, Lunch at one of our 1st burger spots, an amazing dinner at the ChartHouse with the surprise of my kids, Junie and Keyla joining us, 2 doZen roses were delivered to our table, then coincidentally bumping into a photographer we knew that said he’d take a few photos for us while he was there, to then asking me to go outside on the deck, to find him kneeled down on one knee, with John Legend’s “ALL of ME’ playing in the background, alongside my family and friends who waited for me to go outside for the surprise proposal while they froze their butts off. It was our most memorable night. I would not change a thing! I cried the entire time because I knew I was so Blessed!

Here we are almost 8 years later. 2 beautiful babies together with 3 of our own. Completing our family of 7. Finally getting married! I’ve delayed it all these years. I have no idea why I did such a thing.

So there you have it, Our Story. I Called Him Back and I am so Happy I did. The time is finally here to marry my soulmate!
