Our Story

Logan and Cody both grew up in a small town in Southwest Iowa, called Mount Ayr. This is the kind of town where “everybody knows everybody” and you always help a neighbor out. Through middle school and high school, they were both very involved in sports, especially the sport of rodeo. The couple both grew up on farms in Iowa and share a love for animals. They were just friends who would ride to rodeo’s together after the football games, served in Student Council, and cheered for each other at sporting events.
After the first day of Logan’s senior year, Cody called Logan and asked her to prom (with Maid of Honor Leah’s encouragement). Logan was a bit surprised by the phone call, but of course said yes. During the fall (aka football season), Logan and Cody grew closer as she bought his jersey for homecoming and he asked her to the homecoming dance. By prom, they were a “couple” and then Logan was headed off to college at Mizzou.
The quote “Distance makes the heart grow fonder” was the couple’s motto for the next four years. Logan went South for college and the next year Cody went North. Cody made the trip to Mizzou frequently, especially during football season. They would meet in the middle, which happen to be their hometown of Mount Ayr, at least once a month (their rule was no more than 4 weeks apart). After Cody graduated college he moved back home to work as a lineman. He bought season football tickets and visited Mizzou every chance he could.
Upon Logan’s graduation the couple decided that they eventually wanted to live in their favorite state of Florida. So Logan decided to make the move first, hoping Cody wouldn’t be too far behind. After Cody visited a few times he knew that he wanted to be there as well.
The holidays came around and Logan was flying home. Cody decided to surprise Logan at the airport, holding a big “Mrs. Stackhouse” sign. Logan was completely shocked and didn’t exactly know what was happening. Cody got down on one knee, and asked Logan to be his wife. Of course, she couldn’t say no to her high school sweetheart.
Logan and Cody finally ended their long-distance relationship at the beginning of 2018. They both found jobs that they love in the favorite state of Florida and are excited to start their life together as Mr. and Mrs. Stackhouse.
