We met on OK Cupid (that app may not exist any longer). Sinead responded to a cryptic message about Robin Hood, that took a few months to decipher…….

After a few attempts to meet (mainly due to terrible suggestions by Dan) we arranged to meet at ‘The Bucket Shop’, a classy Buckhead joint!!! That was Labour Day weekend.

We had a drink and some dinner on the patio and Dan thought Sinead had little interest in him. Apparently as Sinead was playing with her parking ticket it indicated a lack of interest! Obviously Sinead was interested and said she’d see him again. And again……..

Our first trip was to St. Augustine in Jan 2020, it was not beach weather but we had a great time. Dan kept on about ’30A’ and how it wasn’t as good as 30A. Sinead had no idea what he was on about.

After the short COVID lock down in Atlanta, Dan brought Sinead to Panama City Beach for a few days. Sinead was not too impressed with the restaurants, souped up cars and music blaring, but the beach was fabulous! On Sunday morning, Dan (in his 30A tour guide mode) brought Sinead to Rosemary beach and that is when Sinead fell in love with 30a and vowed never again to take the cheap option by staying in Panama City.

When we chatted about getting married in late 2020 we couldn’t decide on where to get married, we talked about Ireland, PA, Atlanta and even Long Island and ruled all options out quickly. Then in May 2021 Sinead and Annie decided 30A was the wedding venue and that was ‘almost’ that. Plans were made for a wedding on 18th October 2021 but with the travel ban still in place in the US by August 2021, we made the difficult decision to postpone. Both of us were quite upset, naturally, Dan about the deposits lost (!), Sinead about the dresses that had been bought.

We moved the wedding to May 2022. Then in October 2022, just before a trip to Ireland, we found out that we had a surprise on the way in the form of Miss Eabha! Wedding postponed indefinitely!

At Thanksgiving 2022 we started the wedding discussion again (about 6 weeks after Marsha had started the discussion!), and said we’d try once again, but would put down limited deposits and not get too excited……

Now we are 6 weeks out and finally beginning to get excited.
