While their love story began seven years ago with a few smart remarks on Facebook, their acquaintance goes back many years before that……..

Justin and Sherae first met as teenagers when they attended Miller Grove Middle School and eventually Redan High School. They were on opposite ends of the social spectrum–him, football star and pretty boy hearthrob and her, flute playing, bookworm know-it-all. They had many friends in common but it wasn’t until after graduation that they got to know each other at all.

Once Sherae came in to her looks, Justin would spend the next few years attempting to get her attention..and her alone in his car *wink*. They would communicate on and off for about five years on Facebook before either one of them actually decided to take their courting seriously.

Justin had spent several weeks trying to invite Sherae to visit him in Philadelphia, where he worked after graduating from Georgetown. Sherae turned him down twice–due to her concern over his sincerity– before deciding that at the very least, it could be a fun weekend in a tourist city. When she agreed to visit, they began speaking every day–for hours at time– until her trip in October 2012. It was a wonderful weekend that caught them both by surprise and they’ve been together ever since.

Eventually, they were no longer satisfied with their long distance relationship and Sherae moved to Philadelphia in June of 2013. During that time, Sherae developed a close relationship with Justin’s toddler daughter, Elise and the two have been inseparable ever since.

On February 15, 2015, Justin proposed to Sherae at their home in Washington D.C. with a touching video. And there would be many ups and downs that would take place in the coming years but ultimately, the two would make their way down the aisle on July 13, 2019 to FINALLY become Mr. and Mrs. Justin Thomas.
